The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is one of the more prominent casinos located in Atlantic City's marina district. Though it opened more recently than many of the other casinos in the area, the property, owned and operated by MGM, is no less storied and successful. It's one of the top revenue generating casinos in New Jersey and was brought to fruition by some of the keenest casino planning minds in the industry.
Planning and pre-construction got underway in the late 1990s, part of a large project to renovate the area. A joint venture between MGM and Boyd Gaming, the Borgata opened its doors in 2003 with one of the largest (and most visible) tower buildings in Atlantic City. Over its relatively short existence, the owners have renovated the casino with an impressive retail expansion, new poker room, and a second hotel. Though majority ownership of the facility was up in the air for some time, MGM currently runs the property and oversees its operations.
The hotel at the Borgata features expansive rooms and suites. The Water Club at Borgata is particularly impressive, standing 43-stories, with 800 guestrooms and approximately 18,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Designed with "elegance and comfort" in mind, the rooms here mimic and rival just about any stylish urban residence, containing contemporary furniture and layouts, along with modern amenities and appealing extras. The pools are one such perk, and the Borgata offers five to pick from: The Water Club Outdoor Pool, Water Club Indoor Pool, Borgata Outdoor Pool, Borgata Pool & Gardens, and the Lap Pool at the Immersion Spa.
Speaking of the Spa, the two-story marvel is located on the 32nd floor and provides a stunning view to the outdoors. They offer a comprehensive list of spa services that includes skin care, body conditioning, massages, and other cutting-edge therapies. The Borgata also has a lovely fitness center on the 33rd floor, exclusively for Water Club guests, and stocked with top-notch cardio and strength training gear for maintaining a peak level of human performance.
You won't be spending all of your time at the Borgata working out. You'll likely want to experience some casual or fine dining as well. You need only pick from the plethora of options available. There are more than fifteen restaurants on the property, with standouts like Bobby Flay Steak and Izakaya, the Modern-Japanese-Inspired eatery located conveniently close to the casino floor. The Borgata is home to the legendary Premier Nightclub for the night-owls out there, and also features live acts (along with great tequila) at the Gypsy Bar. Rounding out the entertainment selection is the Borgata Beer Garden, one of the finest outdoor bars in the city, replete with a selection of over fifteen domestic and craft beers.
Gambling at the Borgata takes place on the spacious casino floor, a 161,000 square foot area with approximately 4,000 slot machines, 180 table games, and 50 poker tables. They are well known for their regular tournaments and extensive casino bonuses. Through the Borgata's rewards program, you can gain access to some valuable casino coupons and casino promotion codes to take your gambling experience to new heights.
